Lina's right. Josh didn't fully finish factoring (his 9 could've still been factored).

Lina and Josh are both trying to find the prime factorization of the number 126. But, Lina's solution is correct because her solution expresses 126 as the product of prime factors.


We can tell that they are trying to factor because of the method that they are using, a factor tree.


When multiplying each of their solutions, to figure out if they make 126, they both do, which shows that they both did something right. But, when looking at Josh's answer, we can see that the number 9 is still there. Since the number 9 can be further factored into 3 * 3, we can see that Lina's solution is correct.
