The Deprivation Model: Adaptation to the Prison
The conditions in the prison are harsh and can be challenging for many prisoners and hence these conditions often led to the development of some form of sub-culture with in the prison. This model postulates that the prisoners try to adapt to the physical and social deprivation of the prison by collective efforts and hence this result in evolving of the prison sub-culture.
In the given lesson, deprivation model has been described which is similar to sustainability efforts or attempts made by Pacholke in the Prison. Pacholke has made efforts to make the live of the inmates better by helping them to adjust to the life of the prison.
The model that has been closely resembled the Pacholke attempts has been the Deprivation model.
The deprivation model has been suggested for the prisons to provide the appropriate and proper conditions for the prisoners. The sub-culture has been developed among people of the same condition. This subculture has been dealing with changes and the corrections that have been occurred in order to change the living conditions.
Pacholke also fights for the better life of the prisoners with him. Thus, the model that has been closely resembled the Pacholke attempts has been the Deprivation model.
