The Civil War was not inevitable because this was going to happen eventually if slavery kept countinuing. In order to compromise to stop the war they coulve changed the laws and both come into an agrement but they didn't so the Civil War had to happen in order to change the fate of the country.

It was Inevitable. Tensions about slavery and southern state rights were bound to explode along with calls for secession. It started with the south seceding. The rest of the United States didn't take the secession seriously though until the south attacked a fort and raided it for munitions and supplies. Then and only then did the civil war fully explode into a reality.
