Mai distributed another group of flyers equally among the five volunteers. Then she remembered that she needed some flyers to give to teachers, so she took 2 flyers from each volunteer. Then, the volunteers had a total of 40 flyers to hang up. How many flyers did Mai distribute to each of the five volunteers originally? The answer is 10, but how do you figure that out? Step-by-step explanation: So, she took 2 from each of the volunteers, and there were 5 volunteers in total. What I did, was I found out how many people were taken in total and given to the teachers, which was 10 (2*5), and then I added it to the total number of flyers still with the volunteers (40), which equals 50. Divide that by 5 (number of groups) and you get 10.
