1500-35x=915
subtract 1500 from both sides.
1500-35x-1500=915-1500
-35x=-585
divide both sides by -35
[tex] \frac{-35x}{-35} \frac{-585}{-35} [/tex]
[tex]x= \frac{117}{7} [/tex]

you take away 1500 from 915. That would make it -35x = -585. then you divide both sides by -35 and you get x = 16.714
