Parallel lines have the same slope.
The slope of this line is 3, so the slope of any line parallel to it will also be 3.

So far, you know that the equation of any line parallel to  y=3x-7
starts out the same ...  y = 3x+?
But what about the y-intercept ?    y = 3x plus what ?

It doesn't matter !  It can be anything !   ALL lines with the same slope
are parallel, no matter what their y-intercept is.

The equation of a line parallel to  y=3x-7  is 

                                             y = 3x plus or minus anything.
